Newmont paid Rp 1.7 Trillion

PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara has paid the financial obligations such as taxes, non-tax, and royalties for the second quarter of 2010 to the Government of Indonesia amounting to Rp 1.7 trillion.

Senior External Relations Manager of PT Newmont Nusa Tenggara (PT NNT) Arif Perdanakusumah, Monday in Mataram, say, the value of royalties in second quarter 2010 amounted to Rp. 59 billion higher than the second quarter of 2009 amounted to Rp. 45.7 billion. These royalties are paid through the Ministry of Finance.

According to him, the biggest tax payments in the first quarter of this year is corporate income tax (PPh 25) amounting to Rp 1.6 trillion. The figure is higher than the second quarter of 2009 amounted to Rp 250 billion, followed by the third-largest revenue from personal income tax (PPh 21) of Rp 35 billion.

Until now, PT NNT has paid the tax, non-tax, and royalties amounting to Rp 18 trillion to the state. PT NNT in 2009 to pay taxes and royalties to the Government of Indonesia amounting to Rp 3.9 trillion.

In addition to direct financial benefit to the government, said Arif, the presence of PT NNT also provide other economic benefits through the payment of salaries to 8000 employees and contractors; the purchase of goods and services, both local and national levels, as well as community development programs.

PT NNT shares currently owned by Nusa Tenggara Mining Corporation for 56 percent, 20 percent of PT Pukuafu Indah and PT Multi Region Compete 24 percent.
